If you feel like you are a kind of fanatics, who are unable to accept what other people think, especially when it comes to your personal belief, I suggest you not to read this post. OR read it on your own risk. If you feel this writing interesting enough to discuss, please dont hesitate to write it down in the comment column. I will gladly know what people think on this matter.

Okay, this was just another night, spending my time browsing my facebook newsfeed. Suddenly my eyes caught a glimpse of my friend newly tagged photos. It was the photos about certain church activity who just held an event (months ago? i forgot), claiming Jakarta for Jesus. That was quite big event. They posted the campaign everywhere, even my house got one of the brochure at that time. Not a big deal for me, and actually this did not disturb me, at all. It didnt disturb my school friends (opps, i forgot to mention that I was from Christian school). It didn't disturb other
Okay, now let's move on to another illustration. Lets say, our Muslim brothers and sisters, did the same thing. They held Jakarta for Prophet Mohammed. They distributed fliers to every single house. Using any publication media to promote the event. And hired a mall to celebrate the event. Will you (my Christian friends) find it not disturbing?
With the event was held successfuly, without any sabotage effort from the other religious group, how can the Christian claiming this country as "not a safe place for practicing religious belief"? Yes, i dont want to put aside numerous act against minority (okay, church burning, church bombing, priest being stabbed, unallowed to build the church, etc, and so onn...). However, you cant deny the fact that holding that kind of event, with that name, is quite offensive for other religious belief. Even we can put this kind of event as provocative, offensive act towards the other belief (not only for Muslim, but also Hindu, Budha, etc). How can this bring peace toward society? Well, if you are truly a Christian, you wont say something like "retaliate", or "it is fair for being provocative while they did the same thing".
Another thing, while i opened the church priest's page, i found a biography
So, what's the point of my writing here? Quite complicated and i found my eyes were to heavy to elaborate more. That's why I will write in points below, hope it will be enough for you:
1. Always put in other people shoes. That's how we can build tolerance towards other.
2. Never find your religious belief as the most righteous. I am not saying that you should deny your belief. However, please be objective. You think your religion is the most righteous, and so other religious believers think about their religion.
3. Read the history book, you'll find out that the best way to describe religion is like Seneca said. "Religion is regarded by the common people as true, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful."
4. As minority, you may say that you are being pressured. However, as minority, we should aware of possibility for being a pressure for others.
5.Tolerance is not enough. We should build respect. The difference? tolerance is limited. I can tolerate you to build one mosque here, but I cant tolerate you to build two mosques here. See? tolerance is limited. While respect is wider.
6. We should learn about other religion. Not only being an expert in ours. Learning other religion, will open up our mind for respecting the others belief. This kind of learning is not common in our society. This adds with the ethnopedagogy which is simply not working
Okay, i found that this is a wrap. Hope to see ur comment! :D
